What a Turkey!
Shortly after giving a gubernatorial pardon to a 30-pound turkey named Tom, Sarah Palin held a press conference at Wasilla, Alaska turkey processing center. It’s the latest in Palin’s new career of PR train wrecks. In the background of the Thanksgiving interview is a smiling grizzled dude slaughtering turkeys by dangling their heads into some kind of turkey-killer a la Pink Floyd’s the Wall. One of the more entertaining aspects of the video is how this guy can’t keep his eyes off the camera.
The White House tradition of pardoning a turkey in the days leading up to Thanksgiving began in 1947.
